Dr. Merrie Viscarra is an Associate Professor at Rush University Medical Center and a board certified Physiatrist with a specialty interest in stroke. Her recent article on Women and Stroke received national attention. She draws from her prior experience as a nurse to add to her abilities to provide compassionate patient care. In addition, Dr. Viscarra is Director of the Day Rehab Program at the Johnston R. Bowman Rehabilitation Facility located within the Medical Center. Her special interests include intrathecal pump management, trigger point and Botox injections.
